Northern Lights is a self striping sock yarn which stripes as follows when you knit;
Black
Charcoal Grey
Light Grey
Fluorescent Purple
Lime green
Vivid Blue
Available to order on the following yarn bases:
100g/400m Merino/Nylon - 75% superwash merino 25% nylon & 20g/80m mini skein (fingering weight)
100g/365m Merino/Nylon High Twist - 80% superwash merino 20% nylon & 25g/75m mini skein (fingering weight)
50g/200m Merino/Nylon - 75% superwash merino 25% nylon & 20g/80m mini skein (fingering weight)
The self striping yarn comes with a 20g Lime green mini skein to knit contrasting heels, toes & cuffs. This will be sent to you on the same base as the main skein.
Based on gauge of 10 stitches per inch you will get 2-3 rows per stripe. I used a 2.5mm needle & knitted my sock using the 75% sw merino/25% nylon base.
The yarn is hand dyed in small batches with professional dyes in a smoke-free environment.
All yarns are sent out in a skein/hank.
Though this yarn is washable, I recommend hand-washing your finished object with a wool wash such as euculan. Minimal colour bleeding may occur during the first few washes, so please wash apart from other items.
